Bay Ferries The CAT

Operated by Bay Ferries on the route

If you’re crossing between Portland, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia with Bay Ferries you’ll be sailing on The CAT. This high speed CAT vessel takes just five and half hours to complete the trip between the US and Canada, that’s half the time it would take to drive between the two destinations. This state of the art and modern ferry is stocked full of amenities and entertainment options to help you enjoy a smooth sailing. There’s fresh seafood and craft beers to enjoy, as well the children’s area, movie section and on board gift shop. Of course there’s the amazing views as well.

Onboard Food and Drink

The CAT offers passengers the chance to tuck into fresh cuisine, including locally caught seafood such as delicious Digby scallops and sumptuous salmon fillets. There is also a wide range of snacks and coffee in the Sip Café area. If you fancy a drink, head to the Forchu Lounge bar. Here you’ll find a choice of beverages including local craft beer and wine from nearby wineries.

Onboard Shopping

As well as a wide range of culinary delights, the Scotia market contains an on board gift shop. It’s the perfect place to buy your gifts, souvenirs, travel necessities or maybe just a little treat for yourself.

Additional Onboard Facilities

As you travel and especially when you come into the harbour you’ll be treated to some stunning sea and shoreline vistas. The outside deck area is the ideal place to take in the beautiful bay views and take in the cool sea breeze. Keep an eye out, you may even catch a glimpse of some whales and other sea life. The journey will pass you by in no time with the on board movie area. Get yourself settled into a comfy chair and choose from the day’s movie selection.

Travelling with Children

Keeping kids occupied when travelling can sometimes be an arduous task. This is made easier with the Little Mates Quarters children’s play area, the ideal spot for the little ones to burn off some energy.
