The Greek port town of Kyllini is located in the Kastro-Kyllini region of Greece and lies on the Ionian Sea coast around 11 km to the west of Andravida, 28 km to the north of the island of Zakynthos and 39 km to the north west of Pyrgos. The town has a beautiful beach, with golden sand, which is located in the area around Fournia Beach. Visitors also like to take advantage of the natural spas of Kyllini Baths. One important attraction in the town is Chlemoutsi Castle which is made up of the main castle, a hexagonal building, with an inner courtyard. The castle's fortification from attack are its walls which have towers located along its length. The town is also around 40 minutes by car from Ancient Olympia.
From the town's port there are several ferry connections to Zakynthos, Cephalonia, Argostoli, Poros, Ithaka and Sami.
The Greek island of Ithaca lies in the Ionian Sea and is one of the Ionian group of islands. The island is famous as the mythical island of Odysseus and has a laid back atmosphere surrounded by crystal clear waters. The small island is popular with all visitors but especially so with families or couples who find many things to do including swimming in the island's warm waters, trekking along the island's paths or simply enjoying a meal of locally caught fresh fish in a taverna. Some of the best beaches on the island are Filiatro, Sarakiniko and Agios Ioannis although there are other, more secluded, beaches to explore. In the evening a popular way to wind down from the day's activities is to walk along the promenade of Vathy and then to enjoy a lovely drink under the night sky.
From the island, ferries operate to Kefalonia, Astakos and Patra.
